Fire Guts FIRS Headquarters in Abuja, Officials Confirm No Casualties

A fire incident occurred on Saturday at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) headquarters in Abuja, with the blaze breaking out on the fourth floor of the building.

The fire was promptly responded to by security personnel on duty, and with the swift support of the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service and other emergency responders, it was successfully contained and prevented from spreading further.

MO Media Headlines reports that the fire occurred at the FIRS headquarters located at No. 15 Sokode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

Preliminary assessments point to a possible electrical fault as the cause of the fire, with a full investigation underway.

A number of offices on the affected floor sustained damage, but fortunately, no lives were lost, according to initial reports.

The FCT Fire Service and other emergency responders were swift in their response, ensuring the fire was contained and did not spread to other parts of the building.

A full investigation into the cause of the fire has commenced, with the FIRS committed to reviewing and strengthening its safety protocols to prevent future occurrences.
