Akume Appoints Two New FRSC Deputy Corps Marshals
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, has approved the appointment of two Assistant Corps Marshals (ACMs) as Deputy Corps Marshals (DCMs) of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), covering the South East and North East geopolitical zones.
This development was disclosed in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide.
The appointments form part of efforts to strengthen leadership depth, enhance operational effectiveness, and consolidate road safety management across the country.
Those appointed are DCM Hyginus Omeje, who currently heads the Operations Department, and DCM Mark Sabiya, in charge of the Department of Finance and Accounts, both at the FRSC national headquarters.
According to the SGF, the decision was guided by the need to deploy experienced, disciplined and performance-oriented officers to strategic command positions to improve service delivery and reinforce national road safety management.
Reacting to the development, the Corps Marshal of the FRSC described the appointments as timely and well-considered, noting that they reinforce the Corps’ leadership structure at a critical point in Nigeria’s road safety journey.
He said the newly appointed Deputy Corps Marshals have distinguished themselves through decades of exemplary service, operational excellence and dedication to the ideals of the Corps, adding that their elevation would enhance command effectiveness, stakeholder engagement and the implementation of targeted safety interventions.
The Corps Marshal further charged the new DCMs to deploy their wealth of experience in addressing traffic management and road safety challenges nationwide.
