PCRC, Guard Time Information seal strategic partnership to boost community policing in Nigeria

In Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, a significant step toward strengthening community policing and human rights advocacy has been recorded as the National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, received Comrade Bibi Oduku, Chairman of Guard Time Information and a leading human rights activist, for a high-level strategic collaboration meeting.

The meeting, focused on advancing human rights and community development, underscored a shared commitment to fostering safer communities and improving police-citizen relations across Nigeria.
Alhaji Olaniyan commended the impactful contributions of Guard Time Information in defending and protecting the rights of citizens, as well as promoting the general well-being of Nigerians. He noted that the collaboration would deepen public enlightenment efforts and drive progressive programmes aimed at strengthening trust between the Nigerian Police Force and the public.

Key focus areas of the partnership include the promotion of non-violence and peace-building initiatives, educational programmes for police officers and their families, and nationwide awareness campaigns targeting drug abuse, crime prevention, and other social vices. The collaboration will also prioritize strengthening human rights advocacy and responsive developmental programmes.

Speaking during the meeting, Comrade Bibi Oduku expressed confidence that the partnership would significantly enhance peace, security, and effective community service delivery nationwide. He reaffirmed the commitment of Guard Time Information to supporting the Nigerian Police Force in its mandate as the country’s foremost internal security agency.

He further highlighted ongoing nationwide campaigns addressing drug abuse, crime prevention, and the promotion and protection of citizens’ rights, with particular emphasis on higher institutions, where rising substance abuse poses growing societal challenges.
Describing the collaboration as timely and impactful, Oduku noted that it represents a major stride toward building a safer, more informed, and rights-conscious society.

With this partnership, PCRC Nigeria and Guard Time Information are set to intensify efforts in human rights advocacy, peace-building, drug awareness, and public safety programmes—laying a solid foundation for sustainable community policing across the nation.
