CDHR, CJTF Strengthen Partnership for Peace in Delta Community
The Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR), Abraka Unit, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, security, and human rights following a strategic meeting with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Delta State Command.
The meeting, held at Ekrejeta in Abraka, brought together leaders of both organizations to discuss areas of collaboration aimed at enhancing community safety and justice.
Speaking during the meeting, the Delta State Commander of the CJTF, retired Sergeant Ovie Enamuotor, outlined the aims and objectives of the organization. He explained that the CJTF was established to protect civilians and serve as a bridge between the military and the civilian population in promoting peace, security, and public order.
Enamuotor also extended a warm reception to the delegation from the CDHR Abraka Unit and expressed the CJTF’s readiness to work closely with the human rights organization in advancing peace initiatives, protecting fundamental rights, and fostering a safer society.
The meeting ended with both the CDHR and the CJTF reaffirming their commitment to mutual cooperation and partnership in the interest of justice, security, and community development in Delta State.
Coordinator of the CDHR Abraka Unit, Comrade Uwafili Ikechukwu, described the engagement as a significant step towards building stronger collaboration between civil society and community security stakeholders for the benefit of the people.
