The Delta State ADC Youth Leader, Prince Ukuanovwe Godstime Oj, has called on residents and indigenes of Delta and Edo states to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government in the 2027 elections over what he described as the continued neglect of the two states.

Ukuanovwe made the call following the Federal Government’s recently published list of approved federal road construction and rehabilitation projects, which, according to him, excluded Delta and Edo despite the poor condition of several federal roads across the two states.

The ADC youth leader expressed disappointment over the exclusion, noting that dilapidated federal roads continue to cause hardship for residents, farmers, businesses, students and commuters.

He said Delta and Edo deserve urgent federal intervention, arguing that the condition of several major federal roads in the states has become a serious economic and social concern.

“It is deeply troubling that Delta and Edo can have some of the worst federal roads in the country and yet be left out of the latest list of approved federal road projects.

“Our people deserve better. Delta and Edo are not less Nigerian, and we must not be treated as though our communities and roads do not matter,” he said.

Ukuanovwe also accused the APC-led Federal Government of giving disproportionate attention to the South-West while other regions continue to face significant infrastructural challenges.

He urged residents of Delta and Edo to translate their concerns into political action by holding elected leaders accountable at the ballot box.

“NO ROADS, NO VOTES. If this government has chosen to ignore the suffering of our people, then our people must also make their position clear through the ballot box.

“2027 is an opportunity for the people to decide whether they want to continue with a government they believe has neglected them or choose a new direction,” he stated.

The ADC youth leader urged voters in both states to remain politically conscious and united, stressing that equitable development, quality infrastructure and responsible governance should be major issues in the 2027 elections.

He maintained that the condition of federal roads must form part of the criteria for assessing political leaders, urging citizens to demand accountability and measurable results from those seeking their votes.
