PDP Ethiope East Leaders Reaffirm Unity, Mobilise Against APC
Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State have reaffirmed their commitment to the party, while calling for intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The position was contained in a communiqué issued after a meeting of PDP leaders and the Local Government Executive Committee (LGA EXCO), held on October 3, 2026, at Okpara Inland, Ethiope East.
The meeting, presided over by the LGA Chairman, Mr. Henry Ogboru, was attended by party leaders and EXCO members from across the 11 wards of the local government area.
In his welcome address, Ogboru thanked party leaders and EXCO members for their continued commitment to the PDP and for sustaining the party at the ward level.
He said the sacrifices and dedication of members remained appreciated by the party’s State and National leadership, while assuring that the PDP was prepared to deliver its candidates at the polls.
The LGA Chairman also criticised what the party described as political activities involving the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The PDP LGA Leader, Dr. Anthony E. Ajaino, in his address, urged party leaders and members to remain good ambassadors of the party and continue working towards what he described as a great, functional and egalitarian society.
Ajaino also criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly over the rising cost of living and prices of goods and services.
He declared: “The message is clear: Tinubu and APC must go.”
According to the communiqué, the meeting thereafter adopted a number of resolutions aimed at strengthening the party’s structure and grassroots mobilisation across Ethiope East.
The leaders resolved that the party must remain united and focused, while ward and unit meetings should be intensified across all 11 wards of the LGA.
They also resolved to empower house-to-house canvassers to take the party’s message to residents and sensitise voters on its programmes and positions.
The meeting further reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to meeting what it described as the expectations of the people.
The leaders also warned party members to be wary of what they described as “interlopers” operating under the PDP splinter group associated with Wike, alleging that such individuals were indirectly working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Tinubu.
The communiqué was jointly signed by Ogboru, PDP LGA Chairman, Ethiope East, and Ajaino, PDP LGA Leader.
The meeting ended with renewed calls for unity, grassroots mobilisation and commitment to the PDP ahead of the elections.
