PDP LAUNCHES ‘TOO BIG TO RIG’ OPERATION IN ABRAKA
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abraka Ward 2 Chapter in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, has launched an Operation “Too Big to Rig” grassroots mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The initiative was unveiled during the ward’s statutory Executive Committee meeting held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the residence of the PDP Ethiope East LGA Leader, Dr. Anthony E. Ajaino.
The meeting, which was well attended, was presided over by the Ward Chairman, Deacon Osmond Ochuko Uduorho, while Mr. Igho Onorhime served as Secretary.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the Ward Executive Committee said the “Too Big to Rig” operation was conceived as a grassroots strategy to mobilise voters, protect the integrity of their votes and ensure that the will of the people is upheld during the 2027 elections.
The ward EXCO further resolved that the campaign should be replicated and propagated across Delta State and other parts of the country as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots political participation and voter mobilisation.
According to the communiqué, Polling Unit Coordinators and House-to-House Canvassers would soon be inaugurated to drive voter sensitisation, education and mobilisation across the ward.
The party also declared that it would vigorously support only credible individuals whom it considers capable of changing the political narrative and demonstrating sincere commitment to community development.
Former APC Women Leader Joins PDP
The meeting also witnessed a political development as a delegation of former members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Madam Endurance Akporhonor, the pioneer APC Women Leader in Ward 2, visited the meeting to identify with the PDP.
Although the gathering was strictly an EXCO meeting, the former APC members reportedly expressed their decision to align with the PDP, citing the party’s stated commitment to developmental politics and what they described as its principled objectives.
Akporhonor, who was described as a grassroots mobiliser with extensive practical political campaign experience, formally declared her loyalty to the PDP.
The development was applauded by members of the Ward 2 EXCO, who welcomed the former APC members into the PDP fold.
The party leadership expressed optimism that the “Too Big to Rig” initiative would strengthen grassroots participation and help protect the votes of the people in the 2027 elections.
The communiqué was signed by Deacon Osmond Ochuko Uduorho, Ward Chairman; Mr. Igho Onorhime, Ward Secretary; and Dr. Anthony E. Ajaino, PDP Leader, Ethiope East LGA.
The Ward 2 chapter also called for the support of all Nigerians genuinely committed to changing what it described as the “present ugly narrative” of the Nigerian society.
