My constituency project will reduce water borne disease in our communities – Iwhiwhu
Councillor representing the good people of Desiec Ward 1 Abraka, Hon. Stanley Iwhiwhu has offered an insight into his choice of standard solar-powered potable water system as his constituency project.
He offered this insight on Monday in Abraka during the inauguration ceremony of the standard solar-powered potable water system at Urhuoka Community, Desiec Ward 1 by the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe JP.
Iwhiwhu who doubles as the majority leader of the Ethiope East people’s house noted: “This system will provide clean water, reduce water borne disease and alleviate the daily struggles of our people, especially the women and children.”
According to Iwhiwhu, the project is a testament to the local governments effort towards harnessing renewable energy for a brighter future.
He commended the council chairman, Ogedegbe for his unique style of leadership and unwavering support and vision for communities across the local government.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremonies, Ogedegbe commended Stanley Iwhiwhu Councillor ward 1, for delivering on the leadership campaign promises to the people of his ward, noting that Stanley’s commitment has brought the MORE Agenda closer to the grassroots.
Ogedegbe urged the people of ward 1 communities to take ownership of government projects in their areas, stressing that completed projects belong to the people and must be protected and maintained.
“A project remains a government project only during construction. Once completed and inaugurated, it becomes a community project. I therefore urge you all to safeguard and protect every government infrastructure in your communities.”
Ogedegbe also commended the communities for their continued support and cooperation, urging them to sustain their backing for the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Governor of Delta State.
The events attracted councillors, supervisors community leaders, party stakeholders, and residents, who expressed appreciation to the Ethiope East Local Government leadership for its people-oriented development initiatives.
