Mané Fires Senegal into AFCON Final as Salah’s Wait Continues
Sadio Mané has once again propelled Senegal into the Africa Cup of Nations final, sealing Les Lions’ place in their third final in the last four editions of the tournament and ending Mohamed Salah’s hopes of lifting the trophy yet again.
The 2021 champions will now face either Nigeria or Morocco in Sunday’s final after a dominant display against Egypt on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Mané struck the decisive goal in the 79th minute in a largely one-sided encounter, as Senegal completely outclassed the Pharaohs. The Senegalese controlled proceedings with over 69 per cent possession, leaving Egypt with just 31.1 per cent and little room to mount a comeback.
