The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has launched a sweeping internal reform aimed at strengthening discipline, professionalism, and service excellence across all Commands nationwide.

In a decisive move, the Corps Marshal directed the immediate deployment of the Corps Management Team to Field Commands for a structured retreat and reorientation programme. The initiative is designed to recalibrate operational standards, boost productivity, and decisively tackle all forms of incivility and unprofessional conduct toward members of the public.

Mohammed stated unequivocally that the Corps will not tolerate any behaviour that undermines public trust or compromises its statutory mandate.

The nationwide engagement will prioritise ethical compliance, stronger supervisory accountability, standardised enforcement protocols, and the entrenchment of a citizen-centred approach in all operational activities. Commanding Officers have also been mandated to institutionalise renewed performance benchmarks and enforce strict adherence to the Corps’ code of conduct at every level.

As part of the reform drive, the Management Team will engage directly with critical stakeholders and members of the public to gather constructive feedback on service delivery and operational conduct.

The initiative underscores the leadership’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. Personnel found guilty of misconduct, abuse of authority, or actions capable of bringing the Corps into disrepute will face firm and immediate disciplinary measures in line with established regulations.

The FRSC reaffirmed its resolve to deliver professional, humane, and efficient road safety services, describing the reform as a decisive step toward consolidating internal discipline and strengthening public confidence in the Corps.
