ICPC Boss to Newly Promoted ASPs: Uphold Integrity, Don’t Disgrace the Badge

The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, has charged five police officers on secondment to the Commission to uphold the highest standards of integrity and bring no dishonour to their new rank.

The Chairman, represented by the Secretary to the Commission, Mr. Clifford Okwudili Oparaodu, DSSRS, gave the charge during the decoration ceremony of the officers, who were promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

The newly promoted officers are Amazama Dennis, Andrew Aliyu Maro, Danladi Embaga, Caleb Gabnok and Elizebeth Akor.

Dr. Aliyu described the elevation as a recognition of hard work and dedication, urging the officers to see it as a call to renewed commitment to duty.

“Your promotion today is a testament to your hard work and commitment to service. Do not disgrace the badge which has been pinned on you today,” he said.

He further admonished the officers to remain honest and upright in all their dealings, noting that integrity remains the bedrock of service at the Commission.

Also speaking, Mr. Oparaodu reminded the new ASPs of their responsibilities within the ICPC, warning that indolence and misconduct would not be tolerated.

“What is paramount to us at the ICPC is integrity. You must at all times respect superior authorities and carry out only your lawful duties,” he stated.

The promotions followed a nationwide exercise by the Police Service Commission, which on January 29, 2026, elevated 26,119 Inspectors to the rank of ASP after a rigorous and merit-based process involving written examinations and oral interviews.
