Breaking: Omo-Agege Dumps APC
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, former Deputy President of the 9th Senate, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying his political vision and the interests of his constituents can no longer be effectively pursued within the party.
In a resignation letter dated May 22, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of APC Orogun Ward 2 in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Omo-Agege said his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and stakeholders across Delta State.
The former lawmaker stated that recent developments within the APC in Delta State made it difficult for him to continue pursuing the aspirations of Delta Central and the state under the platform of the ruling party.
“I will not remain a sitting duck in a party where I cannot advance the interests of Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria,” he stated.
Omo-Agege expressed appreciation to the APC for the opportunity given to him to serve as Deputy President of the 9th Senate, while wishing the party success in its future engagements.
He also requested that his name be removed from all party membership records, registers, and communication platforms.
The former Delta Central senator reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Delta State and Nigeria, stressing that he would continue to pursue effective representation and people-oriented leadership outside the APC.
