Ovu Youths Protest Over Detention of MC Aproko
Hundreds of youths and women from Ovu community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday staged a peaceful protest, demanding the release of Mr. Vincent Aki, popularly known as “MC Aproko.”
The protesters marched through major streets of the community and also took their grievances to the Ovu Council of Chiefs, calling for urgent intervention to secure his freedom.
The demonstrators specifically appealed to the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Chief Hon. Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe, JP, to intervene in the matter and facilitate the release of the detained community member.
According to reports, Mr. Aki was remanded by a court of competent jurisdiction over a matter that is yet to be fully disclosed. Sources further revealed that he had previously paid a fine of N100,000 in connection with a similar case.
The protesters expressed concern over what they described as his prolonged detention and urged relevant authorities to act swiftly in the interest of justice and peace within the community.
