The Ibori Suenu Grassroots Network (ISGN) has applauded Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the commissioning of the Oghareki Model Technical College in Oghareki-Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area, describing the project as a major boost to education, vocational training and youth empowerment in Delta State.

The network, in a statement signed by its National Chairman, Chief Andrew Majemite, and Director of Media, Dr. Ofa Henry Ogheneochuko JP, expressed appreciation to the governor for ensuring the completion of the institution, which it said would provide young people with opportunities to acquire practical skills and contribute meaningfully to economic development.

ISGN said the people of Oghara Kingdom and Ethiope West Local Government Area had received the project with excitement, noting that the college represented an investment in the future of the younger generation.

The commissioning ceremony attracted prominent political leaders and stakeholders, including former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori; Senator Ighoyota Amori; former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Halims Agoda; Senator Ede Dafinone; member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Mrs. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu; Ethiope West Local Government Chairman, Hon. Christian Onogba; and traditional rulers, among others.

The group particularly highlighted the participation of Chief Ibori in the commissioning ceremony, noting that the former governor expressed gratitude to Oborevwori for the honour and respect accorded him at the event in his home local government area.

According to ISGN, Ibori also acknowledged the role of the immediate past governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, in conceiving the project and commended Oborevwori for ensuring continuity by completing the initiative rather than allowing it to remain abandoned.

The network described the development as an example of the importance of continuity in governance, stressing that projects capable of improving the lives of citizens should be sustained across successive administrations.

It further noted that Chief Ibori declared support for Oborevwori’s re-election bid in 2027, a position the group said aligned with that of Mrs. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu. The former governor reportedly reaffirmed that his support, alongside that of his followers, remained firm.

ISGN also commended traditional rulers and residents of the various kingdoms for maintaining the peaceful environment necessary for the successful execution and commissioning of the project.

The group reserved special praise for Mrs. Suenu, the representative of Ethiope Federal Constituency, for what it described as her reassuring address and commitment to peace, development and constructive collaboration with the state government.

Reaffirming its commitment to grassroots development, the network said it would continue to highlight development initiatives, promote accountability and encourage peaceful and lawful democratic participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It also reiterated its commitment to working constructively with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in advancing its political objectives.

“Your Excellency, thank you for keeping your promise to Oghara Kingdom,” the statement said, assuring the governor of the network’s continued commitment to peace, progress and development.

The group expressed hope that the Oghareki Model Technical College would become a lasting centre of learning, technical competence and opportunity, equipping generations of young people with the skills required to build successful careers and contribute to the state’s development.

The statement was signed by Chief Andrew Majemite, National Chairman of ISGN, and Dr. Ofa Henry Ogheneochuko JP, Director of ISGN Media.
