BREAKING: Senate Rejects Electronic Transmission of Election Results
The Senate on Tuesday voted against a proposal to permit the electronic transmission of election results, striking out the provision during consideration of an electoral amendment bill.
Lawmakers who opposed the measure cited concerns over Nigeria’s technological infrastructure and network coverage, arguing they are not reliable enough for seamless nationwide implementation and could expose the process to disruptions and disputes, especially in areas with poor connectivity.
