The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly, Abraka Constituency, in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Felix Ejovwoke Erhimedafe, popularly known as IBANI, has received an endorsement from renowned academic Prof. Ben Oghojafor, popularly called BIG BEN, during a courtesy visit to Otorho-Abraka.

The visit, which took place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, was aimed at appreciating Prof. Oghojafor for his contributions to the development of Abraka and his service to society, including his tenure as former Vice-Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.

The visit took a political turn when Prof. Oghojafor raised IBANI’s hand in a gesture of endorsement for the forthcoming Abraka Constituency Assembly election, drawing attention to the growing political conversations surrounding the 2027 contest.

Described by supporters as the “Elephant of Otorho-Abraka,” Prof. Oghojafor’s gesture has become a talking point among IBANI’s supporters, who view it as a significant moment in the candidate’s grassroots engagement.

The IBANI Will Deliver Support Group said the development reflected the importance of community leaders, elders and grassroots stakeholders in discussions about Abraka’s political future.

The group also pointed to the significance of Oruarivie, Umiaghwa and Otorho communities in the constituency, noting that conversations about representation, development and accountability continue to feature prominently as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

IBANI’s supporters maintain that the visit represents more than a courtesy call, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen relationships with respected personalities and engage community stakeholders on the future of Abraka.

However, the endorsement remains a political gesture by Prof. Oghojafor and does not, by itself, establish the position of the wider electorate across the constituency.

With the 2027 general elections approaching, candidates and political groups are expected to intensify consultations and outreach efforts as they seek the support of voters in Abraka Constituency.

The IBANI Will Deliver Support Group reaffirmed its support for Erhimedafe’s candidacy under the APC platform, urging supporters to sustain their mobilisation as the political process continues.
