Chief Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has returned to Nigeria after spending several years in exile.

His return follows reports that his name was removed from the Federal Government’s wanted list under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

The Yoruba Nation activist arrived in Ibadan on Monday and headed straight to the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, marking his first major public appearance since leaving Nigeria in 2021.

Confirming the development, his spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, said Igboho was en route to the Olubadan’s palace at the time of the confirmation. He described the return as historic, noting that Igboho is no longer wanted by government authorities and is free to come home.

Igboho had been residing in the Benin Republic after fleeing Nigeria in the wake of a security operation at his Ibadan residence.
