Breaking: Ajanomi Stands With Great Ogboru, Declares: “Our Son Is Not For Sale”
The Ajanomi Community of Abraka, ancestral home of Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, has declared its unwavering support for its son, rejecting allegations that the former governorship candidate has betrayed the people or compromised with individuals allegedly responsible for the underdevelopment of Delta State.
The position of the community was contained in a press briefing addressed for and on behalf of the Ajanomi Community, Abraka, by the Ókwa of Ajanomi, High Chief Hon. Emmanuel Ifeta, following a solemn community congress held at the palace of the traditional ruler.
According to the statement, elders, chiefs, women, youths and other members of the community gathered during the congress to offer ancestral prayers and libations for the life, protection and destiny of Chief Great Ogboru.
High Chief Ifeta said the gathering was also an opportunity for the community to respond to what it described as “malicious rumours” being circulated against Ogboru, particularly allegations suggesting that he had abandoned his political struggle or compromised with the forces he had consistently opposed.
The Ókwa declared that the community had rejected such claims, insisting that Chief Ogboru remained committed to the liberation and development of the people.
> “Our son is not for sale. His struggle has always been for the liberation of our people,”
High Chief Ifeta stated, while calling on sons and daughters of Ajanomi to remain united and stand firmly behind Ogboru as he responds to what the community described as the call to rescue and rebuild Delta State.
The community also recalled Ogboru’s repeated challenge to those accusing him of benefiting from the alleged fraudulent political system to produce evidence to substantiate their claims.
According to High Chief Ifeta, the allegations against Ogboru should not be allowed to undermine his reputation or erase what the community described as his long-standing political struggle.
The community further expressed its determination to defend the name and integrity of its son, warning individuals whom it accused of sponsoring or spreading falsehood against Chief Ogboru.
The statement said the community had taken a firm position against what it described as deliberate attempts to tarnish Ogboru’s image, stressing that Ajanomi would not remain silent in the face of allegations it considers unfounded.
High Chief Ifeta therefore urged members of the community to remain peaceful, united and focused, while calling on the people to support what he described as Ogboru’s mission to bring about meaningful change and development in Delta State.
The declaration ended with a strong reaffirmation of the community’s solidarity with Chief Great Ogboru, with the Ókwa declaring that “Ajanomi has spoken” and that the community would continue to stand by its son.
